ConnectED Youth

Youth work for the home educated community

ConnectED Youth provides accessible, online youth work sessions, workshops and activities for home educated young people. The sessions are facilitated by a qualified youth and community worker, and focus on youth participation, improving wellbeing and developing core skills.

The sessions and activities include:

Divergent Space - Youth work sessions and support for home educated neurodivergent young people and their families. Sessions include:

• Neurodivergent young people’s group for age 11 -16 (Tuesdays 11.am - 12.30pm.)

• Neurodivergent children’s group for ages 6-10 (Tuesdays 1pm - 2pm age 6 -10.)

• Group work for siblings (Tuesdays 2 - 3.30pm.)

• Virtual coffee for parents/carers (last Tuesday of the month 10am - 11am.)

Online Youth Social Action - Opportunities for young people work together in small groups on a campaigning project to build confidence and develop a variety of core skills. Sessions include:

• Mini 3 week social action projects (Monday 11.00am-12.30pm.)

• In depth 8 week social action projects (Monday 1pm - 2.30pm.)

• Pay as you go weekly social action challenges.

• Free monthly campaign space (last Monday of the month 3 - 4pm.)

Celebrate YOU - An issue based workshop programme for home educated young people. (Wednesdays 1pm - 2.30pm.)

Politics chat and debating club - An onlne debating club to explore ideas, engage in meaningful discussions and reflect on challenges impacting communities. (Wednesdays 11am - 12pm.)

Online Magazine - A quarterly magazine written by and for home educated children and young people. (Monthly editorial meetings, Thursdays 10am - 11am.)

Home Ed Youth Club - An online youth club for the home educated community. Sessions include:

• Games space for ages 6 -8 (Fridays 11am - 12 pm.)

• Chill zone for ages 9 - 16 (Fridays 2pm - 3pm.)

I also run occassional one off activities, including family quizzes, online christmas and Halloween parties, Easter activities, and youth work challenges to keep the whole family engaged throughout the year, so look out for those!
